Private Lessons (call for fees)
Alert Driving School Co. also provides private lessons in behind-the-wheel driving, as well as private tutoring for the permit test.

Adult Beginners (call for fees)
Private lessons with a patient instructor in dual-controlled cars for those who have not previously driven. Lessons begin in familiarization of the automobile, progressing gradually to residential and multi-lane streets and freeways. Defensive driving techniques are stressed. Special attention given to nervous people.

Refresher Course (call for fees)
Tailored to aid adults who need to reacquaint themselves with driving skills after an idle period from driving.

Additional Practice (call for fees)
To build confidence and improve driving skills. Also designed to prepare both teens and adults for the State Driving Test.

* Be sure to write dates of the class you wish to attend - You are also welcome to come by to enroll and pay. Please call first as we are in the car teaching all day, every day.

What to bring to class: OK DRIVER MANUAL, some tag agencies will be selling them or you can print one from the link on this website. 100++pages. The State no longer prints them. If you can not find one we have classroom copies, so you would need to take notes. Bring a notebook, pen, snacks, drinks, money or anything you think you may need. Same for driving times. Please always be on time to learn all you can. All student phones/devices must be turned OFF during all class and driving.

*** Please keep our students safe. There will not be supervision for students who are not picked up on time. Sorry, but we can not employ extra staff for this purpose and keep cost down. We have not raised prices in years and would like to continue to do so. Thanks for your help.

To receive a Certificate of Completion:

The student must have attended the "state certified" education program, consisting of 10 hours of classroom and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.

Teens must be 15 years old or older to attend.

Cost of the Course = $ 350.00

Certificate for Insurance purposes will be given upon completion of course.

This course meets requirements for licensing under the GDL law.

Classroom Instruction

EMPHASIS WILL BE PLACED ON:

signs, signals, pavement markings and highway design.
rules of the road, state laws and local ordinances.
perceiving and reacting to existing traffic conditions and natural forces involved in driving.
proper driving attitude
perceiving and reacting to motorcyclist, bicycles, and pedestrians
driving under adverse conditions
handling emergencies.
the role of alcohol and other drugs in traffic problems and related Defensive Driving Techniques.

Behind-the-Wheel Instruction

This "Quality Program" will be conducted one-on-one in an automatic, dual-controlled brake, driver education car. You will meet at Alert Driving School Co. for your driving sessions. Drive times are scheduled at the time of your enrollment.

Driving is scheduled to be completed by the end of enrolled class and during the designated driving schedule. No free make-up times for a missed driving session will be provided. If make-up time is needed, it will be charged at the private lesson rate. All driver training shall be given by "certified instructors" licensed by the State of Oklahoma.

Basic Driving Maneuvers taught while in the car include:

Driving on one-way streets, two lane
streets, and multiple lane streets

A prescribed secondary school driver education course, as provided for in sections 19-113 through 19-121 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes
A driver education course, certified by the Deferment of Public Safety, from a parochial, private, or other nonpublic secondary school
A commercial driver training course, as defined by Sections 801 through 808 of this title
